I have a sedum that looks like Autumn Joy but has pink flowers. This year it split at the center. All stems are splayed out from the center (on the ground) and new growth is starting to appear in the center. What is this plant trying to tell me?

A possible cause for this "splaying" can be either overwatering and/or overfertilizng but in all probability your plant is trying to tell you it needs to be divided. Early next spring, dig it up and separate it into sections by cutting straight down into the rootball. Pieces can be of any manageable size, but a chunk about four to six inches across will make a nice plant for you pretty fast.
