I recently purchased a pot of A. Neriifolia with only nice green leaves. Should the soil be acidic for this type of plant? What kind of fertilizer, how much and how ofen so that it will start to bloom?

Allamanda is a spectacular climbing plant and blooms all summer if given the proper conditions. It's quite particular, demanding warmth, humidity and bright light for best performance.

Keep the plant warm (minimum 60F in winter), and provide moderate water spring - autumn, but little water during the winter months. Some sunshine is essential for blooming. Surround the pot with damp peat or sphagnum moss and mist frequently to increase humidity around the plant.

You can feed during the months of vigorous growth with a half-strength dilution of a liquid fertilizer, applied once every three weeks in place of a regular watering.
