Roses can simply be air dried by placing them in one layer flat on a screen in a dark, dry and airy place. They can be dried in a flower press (or a large phonebook) but large or heavily petaled blooms may mold using this method. They can also be dried in silica which can be purchased at craft shops selling floral supplies. I would suggest the silica because the flowers retain their color and texture better.
