A family in our area has a beautiful shade garden. This year they have a perennial flower that has large green leaves near the ground that remind me of the size of rhubarb leaves. Coming out of the middle are tall stems that reach about 2.5 feet straight up with yellow flowers on the top that look almost like a daisy. The owner thought the name was something similar to Desamond. Any ideas?

I wonder if the plant is Gunnera manicata, sometimes called Dinosaur Food plant because the leaves are so large and primitive looking that one could imagine a giant reptile munching on them. The large leaves are slightly lobed and have red ribs and the flowers give way to clusters of tiny red fruits.
