I have 4 dwarf hmelocks in my yard (they are about 5 or 6 feet tall). This week I noticed that the two hemlocks in my backyard have lost almost all of their needles. But the two in the front yard look perfectly healthy. The two that have lost their needles are in a shady location. They are about 6 years old, and this has never happened before. Any advice? |
While hemlocks may grow a bit sparse in deep shade, to be honest this sounds like it could be a serious problem and unfortunately based on your description I can't begin to make a diagnosis. You might want to check with your County Extension (790-5818) for a more precise identification of the problem and suggested remedies. |
