Am I supposed to treat the pansy seeds specially before I plant them? I read somewhere about prechilling the seed. How is this procedure done?

Some gardeners will prechill viola seeds for about two weeks. To do this, place them in barely damp soilless potting mix in a plastic bag or sealed container and put it in the refrigerator. Then plant the seeds very lightly in germination mix and keep them at about 70 degrees. These seeds may germinate slowly and erratically over several weeks.
