We just bought several hundred crocus bulbs from your Warminster, Pa store. We want to plant them right in the lawn. How deep should each bulb be planted?

Planting depth depends upon the size of the bulbs, so a general rule of thumb is to plant your bulbs 1 1/2 times the diameter of the bulb. For crocus, that equates to 2"-3" deep.

If you want a naturalized effect, scatter the bulbs by tossing them by the handful. Then plant each where it lands. For a massed effect, plant close together, but to allow space for the foliage, don't plant any closer than about 4".
