I am looking for the plants or seeds for a wildflower called "Shooting Star". I used to see it in San Diego County 45-years ago. Can you help?

The plant you're looking for is Dodecatheon hendersonii. A member of the Primulaceae family, it's sometimes called Shooting Star. It's native to the west, and seeds are difficult to come by, except through nurseries specializing in native plants.

Try contacting Las Pilitas Nursery, Las Pilitas Rd., Santa Margarita, CA 93453. Phone (805) 438-5992.
