If you're growing the annual bedding type impatiens, they must be extremely happy! If you're growing the perennial type impatiens, also called Busy Lizzie (Impatiens wallerana), the growth is still impressive. This type of impatiens usually grows about 2 1/2 feet tall and can be cut back to as low as 6" above the ground when the get too tall. New growth will emerge in a few days and flowers will develop within two weeks of the pruning.
