Blackened Lilac Leaves - Knowledgebase Question

The leaves on my Lilac bush are turning black. Is this normal or is something wrong with it?

I think this is the result of the colder weather. Lilacs are deciduous and lose their leaves in late fall but do not usually make a good show of color beforehand.
