|I read in a gardening book, that you can grow this plant as a ground cover, but a person in a nursery said that he had never seen it grown like that. Do you think that it can be grown this way?
|Hardenbergia comptoniana, or Lilac Vine, is native to Australia. It grows at a moderate rate to 10' high when provided with a trellis. It will grow equally well if allowed to sprawl on the ground. The plant needs light, well-draining soil and full sun to part afternoon shade. The plant is hardy to 24F. If killed back by frost it will resprout in the spring.
Hope this helps!
