I read in a gardening book, that you can grow this plant as a ground cover, but a person in a nursery said that he had never seen it grown like that. Do you think that it can be grown this way?

Hardenbergia comptoniana, or Lilac Vine, is native to Australia. It grows at a moderate rate to 10' high when provided with a trellis. It will grow equally well if allowed to sprawl on the ground. The plant needs light, well-draining soil and full sun to part afternoon shade. The plant is hardy to 24F. If killed back by frost it will resprout in the spring.

Hope this helps!
