|Is there any difference between antique irises and heirloom irises?

|Many people use the terms interchangeably but I think an argument could be made that an antique iris would have been hybridized prior to such and such a given date but that an heirloom iris could be any iris handed on over the years from gardener to gardener either in friendship or by sale. That doesn't exactly answer your question, but it's a start.
