I planted morning glories from seed in the spring and had hundreds of blooms. They climbed up the side of my porch. Here's my question. Will morning glories come back from year to year? And if so, do I need to cut the dead vines back closer to the ground for next year? |
How lovely! Morning glories are considered annuals, meaning they need to be replanted from seed each spring. Your plants may well reseed themselves, but as insurance (and to maintain purity if you grow a mixture of colors) you may want to plant new seed each year. Since frost kills the vines outright there is no harm in cleaning them up and removing them. |
