Mold Growing On Top Of Soil - Knowledgebase Question

I read your tips and it says that white mold growing on the surface of soil is actually beneficial since it is breaking down the organic material. Even though it is beneficial is there any way to remove the mold. It is just not a nice sight to see since the plants with these problems are household plants.

Just scrape it off the top of the soil. When you say its household plants, another possibility for white material on the top of the soil is accumulated salt deposits from watering. At least once a month, water slowly and deeply and let the water drain out the bottom of the pot to leach these salts away. They can be detrimental to the long-term health of the plant.
