Montauk Daisy - Knowledgebase Question

I live on Long Island and have some Montauk Daisies I would like to transplant. Do I cut them back after I move them, and do they normally get cut back, and if so when is best spring or fall.

I think you are asking about Nipponanthemum nipponicum, the Nippon Daisy, and sometimes called Montauk Daisy . This fall bloomer would be better trimmed back after the cold weather has killed it back, then transplanted in the early spring. Most fall bloomers are best left in place to recover from that stress until the following spring; this allows them an entire growing season to become acclimated to their new location and rebuild their strength for the next bloom display.
