According to Michael Dirr's "Manual of Woody Landscape Plants," the seeds should germinate without any special treatment and can be collected in the fall and sown immediately with good results. He also notes that extremely hard seeds can be soaked in water for twenty four hours prior to planting. Good luck with this batch!
