I live in Sunset's climate zone 19 and I was wondering if I could plant wallflowers now. Also, how do you know when cuttings have rooted? |
Cheiranthus, or Wallflower, seeds can be planted outdoors now in your gardening region. Sow 1/4" deep in well-draining soil. A good indication that a cutting has rooted is the appearance of new growth at the tip of the cutting. You should see new shoot growth or new leaf buds beginning to swell. Or, if you're brave, you can gently dig the cutting up to check the progress of the rooting process. |
