Strawberries can be grown in heat and humidity, and many varieties are grown commercially in Florida. So, if the tropical climate you had in mind is similar to that of Florida, the answer to your question is yes. Strawberry varieties grown in Florida include Camarosa, Oso Grande, Rosa Linda, Selva and Sweet Charlie.
