I live in Sacramento and have rose bushes. I always forget when I should prune them. Is it now, or do I wait for early spring? Please help!

Roses should be pruned in late winter/early spring, just as, or before, the buds swell. If there are many long canes, you can cut them back a bit, or tie them together so they won't whip around in the wind and damage each other. It's best to save the major pruning until late winter or early spring.
