When should I prune my miniature lemon tree? Can those cuttings be used to root another tree?

Citrus is frost sensitive and should be pruned in early spring after all danger of frost is past, just as the tree starts to leaf. Prune only as needed to remove dead wood, crossing branches, and to shape the tree. Citrus trees you purchase are always grafted onto a rootstock for increased vigor and disease resistance. You can try rooting cuttings, but they are often prone to root diseases such as phytophthora.
