|Here in the UK we have a plant called Cordyline australis it is a form of palm tree. I am not sure of what your name might be for it , but I would like to know if it can be pruned or topped. They are sold as container plants but if you plant them out they will grow to 15 feet.|
|Cordyline is also known as the Hawaiian Ti plant. Unless you're living in the tropics, plan on keeping the plant indoors during the winter months. Some cordylines have brightly colored foliage, others are only green. For best foliage colors, provide bright light. To keep your plant healthy, maintain temperatures between 60 and 85 degrees, and keep the potting soil moist. The older leaves of the plant will fall off, but new leaves will continue to grow from the top of the plant. Because the older leaves fall off, the plant is not generally pruned.
