Wisteria Stem Damage - Knowledgebase Question

I planted a wisteria last spring and it did pretty well through the summer, growing up and around a good 8 foot pole. But about 5-6 weeks before our first frost, a rabbit or something ate the trunk stem in half, totally severing it about 6 inches from the ground. Any change it will come back in the spring?

Wisteria is a very tough plant and since it sounds like it had become well established over the summer, I would expect it to come back just fine, possible from root suckers or new shoots from the ground. If it does this, pick one or two to train as the main vine and trim off the rest. It should regrow quickly due to the already existing root system.
