I have seen a bed full of figaro dahlias and would like to try growing them. I have found some seeds. Do they come back the next year? Can I save seeds? Do I start them inside or can I just sow the outside (when?) |
Dahlia seeds can be started indoors in the early spring and the small plants set out after all danger of frost. (Dahlia seedlings do not tolerate frost.) In the fall, you would dig the roots (tubers) and store them for replanting the following spring. This will give you bigger plants faster the following summer, and they can also be divided to make additional plants from your favorites. Enjoy those dahlias! |
