|Growing Hibiscus from seeds; Just what is the combination and touch in starting these plants from seeds? Depth, soil, temperature and drainage, please.
|Seeds of hibiscus have a hard outer seedcoat, so soak the seeds for 24 hours prior to sowing. Then sow 1/16" deep in moistened seed starting mix, and cover the trays or pots with plastic wrap to help hold in moisture. Seeds will germinate in 30-60 days when kept at 70F-75F degrees. As soon as the seeds sprout remove the plastic wrap and place the seedlings under a source of artificial light.
