I am not sure if you can help me. I would like to know where I can purchase a deer feeder or find plans to make one myself.

In my experience, deer don't really seem to need a feeder in particular -- they will browse acorns off the ground and nip tender growth tips off of any height plant they can reach, including standing on their hind legs if they are really hungry. I should think placing the food on or next to their "deer trail" in a regular spot in late afternoon would be enough to attract them to dine every evening. If you feel a feeder of some type would be a good idea you might look at the raised troughs intended for use by cattle. They are sold at rural farm and feed supply stores. Another possibility would be to place the feed on an old picnic table.
