|I'm assuming that it's Wisteria. I took some pods off of a vine out in the country in Virginia. The pods are long and velvety. Should I pop them open and just plant them in any soil?
I would like to start them in a container.
|If they are wisteria seeds they should germinate without any pretreatment, although you might want to soak them in water overnight just before planting. I would suggest using a rather large container as these plants are a bit rangy. You might also want to consider the fact that a wisteria can take up to 20 years to bloom (8 or 10 is not unusual) if grown from seed. Most of the plants on the retail market are not seed grown but instead started from already blooming plants by either cutting or grafting. Have fun with your project!|
