|I would like to give a small evergreen tree or a bush as a favor at my wedding. I am looking for something that would be about 8-10" tall, with short, close branches and in the shape of a small Christmas tree. What type of tree/bush would fit this and where would I get it?|
I would like to give them in a painted clay pot or glass pot with small lights on them. I would like the guests to use the trees to form a circular centerpiece at their tables and then be able to take them home and plant them. So they have to be small enough to speak across the table and to be portable to carry home.
Any ideas would be appreciated. I don't know if I can grow these from seeds or if I should order them from a garden center. My wedding is November 11. So the garden centers will be setting up for the holidays. But I don't want the sparse little trees. I want them to be full and dense with short branches close together.
|You might see if a garden center can locate (or can have custom grown) small clipped boxwoods. Most evergreens are grown from cuttings and would require custom shearing or training to make the type of plant I think you are envisioning. Alternatively you might be able to train some ivy topiaries to give the effect you want and possibly at a lower cost. In either case it is not too soon to start searching.|
