|I have an English dogwood. It is small with spindly limbs growing out of the ground. Can these limbs be pruned back to the ground before they begin to bloom again?|
|If you prune them back in the winter you will be cutting away all the bloom buds for the upcoming spring bloom season. However, if you prune the plant back after blooming in over, it will have time to regrow new shoots and set bloom buds during late summer for next spring's bloom season.
Thanks for the question. Good luck with your English dogwoods!
