|When is the best time to fertilize and prune a newly planted Satsuma tree?|
|The best time to prune a satsuma is in late winter (early to mid February), prior to the onset of new spring growth. Wait to fertilize a new tree until it has had a couple of months to begin growth and then only fertilize lightly, or with a slow release product. Mature trees can be fertilized with a cup of turf fertilizer per inch of trunk diameter in mid February and once every six weeks for three more applications (late March, mid May, and late June).
