|I have a mugo pine that is about 3 years old. Looked at it yesterday and the needles are yellow and brown at the tips, all of them. Will the pine shed all its needles and new ones will grow to replace them, or will the pine die? None of the needles have dropped as of January, 2000.

|Unfortunately, based on your description I am not certain what is wrong with your mugo pine. It could be "white pine blight" which causes just what you described or it could possibly be attributed to the dry year we had, or it might be somethng else entirely. You might want to take a sample to the county extension (305-5742) and see if they can give you a more definite diagnosis. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.
