After applying steer manure, my lawn has been attacked by massive amounts of mushrooms/toadstools. How can I destroy them and their spores without damaging the lawn or endangering my children? |
As you may have guessed, the mushrooms are growing on the nutrients supplied by the manure. Mushrooms absolutely thrive on decomposing organic matter. They are harmless, though unattractive, and as soon as the manure breaks down a bit more, new mushroom growth should be at a minimum. You can knock down the mushrooms, or rake them up and dispose of them. |
