I purchased Amaze as a pre emergent to put in my flower beds and on my lawn. Can I use it in the vegetable garden also? I plan to put it down approx. 13 weeks before I would plant any veggies.

I'd really check the label carefully. As far as I know Amaze is only registered for use in woody ornamental beds. Even 13 weeks after application some residue may remain, making the area less than suitable for food crops.

Pre-emergent herbicides produce a gas that prevents weed seeds from germinating. But, you need to remove all the weeds in the plot before you use the herbicide. Since you're removing the weeds anyway, why not just lay a thick organic mulch over the veggie bed to suppress weeds? When you're ready to plant, rototil the organic matter into the soil, sow your seeds, then mulch around the the new plants to keep weeds at a minimum.
