Rock dusts (for example granite dust, phosphate rock or greensand) can be used to supply nutrients and their effects last over a long period of time because they break down slowly in the soil. Their specific use and quantity would be based on the results of soil tests indicating a need for specific nutrients. Your County Extension (345-3283) can help you with the soil tests and interpreting the results.
