Do I cut Breath of Heaven down to the ground and then will it come back? Or how shall I prune it? |
Breath of Heaven is Coleoneam (or Diosma). This evergreen shrubby plant is native to South Africa and grows best along the coastal areas of California. Although it produces some bloom most of the year, the main blooming period is winter through spring. If you cut your plant back now, you'll cut off some of the bloom. Wait until late spring or early summer, then prune it back lightly. If interior stems are non-productive, cut them out completely, but don't prune the entire plant down to the ground or it may not come back completely. |
