Is it all right to move a dwarf Tovita citrus tree (orange) from one container to another at this time of year? Tree has oranges that are green, and ripe, and even a few blossoms. We live on the coast just south of San Francisco.

To keep your plant growing well and producing, transplant now, before new spring growth begins. Water the tree well the day before transplanting and make the move as quick as possible so as not to expose the roots any longer than necessary. Water again after transplanting and protect the tree from direct sunlight for 3-4 days after transplanting.

Your tree should be just fine and continue growing and producing without skipping a beat.
