We have a cemented side yard but I want to put some plants in containers over there. Maybe some kind of vine or two. But it gets total shade. Know of anything that will grow in my shaded side yard, in a container?

Most plants will adapt to growing in containers, but not all plants will tolerate all day shade. Depending on how deep the shade is, you'll have good success with the following plants:

Fuchsia, Osmanthus, Pieris, Daphne odora, Carpenteria californica, Azalea, Skimmia, Hosta, Vinca, Caladium, Campanula, Begonia, Dicentra (Bleeding Heart), ferns, Lily, Lobelia, Myosotis (Forget-Me-Not), Pansy, Primrose, Cineraria, Heuchera, Hellebore and Gentian.
