Can I use pumpkin seed from the same package more than one season? I always buy too many and would like to store some of them for one more year.

Pumpkin seed is particularly long lived and can maintain viability up to five years if it is stored correctly but in most instances it is better to replace it sooner than that since our home storage techniques are usually a bit less than perfect. Keep in mind also that viability decreases over time, so germination will be less each year. Store leftover seeds in a glass jar or plastic storage container in the refrigerator. Make sure they are labeled, dated and that the packets are quite dry before placing them in storage.
