I HAVE A NUMBER OF CONTAINERS - TERRA COTTA AND PLASTIC THAT I USED LAST YEAR FOR GROWING PARSELY, BASIL, AND FLOWERS OUTSIDE IN THE YARD ON THE PICNIC TABLE, ETC. HOW DO I STERILIZE THEM FOR USE THIS SPRING - DO I WASH THEM IN BLEACH AND WATER, OR USE SOAP? I WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE READY COMES SPRING. THANK YOU, TOM DEMSE

It's usually a good idea to scrub them out with hot soapy water, rinse out the soap and then dip them in a solution of nine parts water and one part ordinary household chlorine bleach. Allow them to air dry and then store in a clean place away from dust.
