I live Southern California zone 10. Can you tell me what flowers and shrubs I might mix and match? My flower bed is 24'long by 3' wide.

With a 3' wide planting bed, you should concentrate on small-scale plants. Some suggestions for mixing shrubs and flowers include primrose, ferns, begonias, azaleas and pansies for a shady spot, or daylilies, goldenrod, feverfew, yarrow and sea lavender for a sunny site. If your bed gets both shade and sun, try lilies, phlox, Shasta daisies, irises, delphiniums and balloon flower.

You'll help your plants thrive by amending the soil with aged-compost or other organic matter prior to planting.

Hope you have a color-filled spring and summer!
