Plumes On Ornamental Grass - Knowledgebase Question

I don't known what kind of tall ornamental grass I have, but, the 1st year we were here the grass had plumes at the end of the summer. I cut the grass down in the spring when I saw new growth. The grass grew back and looked like it did when we moved in. But it did not have plumes last summer. Are there biennial grasses that only have plumes every two years or did I do something wrong?

I don't think you did anything wrong. Sometimes plants go through weird cycles. As long as it's planted in full sunshine and isn't overfertilized, it should produce plumes for you this year. (If you give grasses too much water and fertilizer they'll grow lots of blades but may not flower and produce seeds.)

Hope your ornamental grass behaves itself this summer!
