I'm wondering if I can use Quonset hut cages for my tomato plants? If so, how do I make them? I am planting about 100 plants and seeds.

Quonset hut cages are made by bending concrete reinforcing wire into rounded arches or hoops. Place hoops over the plants when they're 6 inches tall. They'll grow up through the wire grid and bear fruit on the top, away from pests. This method of training tomatoes is relatively inexpensive, and good for large plantings. However, it is best to use deteminate varieties of tomatoes with this system. For more information about training tomatoes, visit the articles below, from National Gardening magazine.
