After I purchased a mulch and placed it in a hosta bed there suddenly appeared numerous sprouts of onion grass. I had dug the bed to a depth of two feet and placed fresh potting soil there and planted the new plants. How can I get rid of this onion grass? |
You could smother it by placing a layer of cardboard or several thicknesses of newspaper on top of the foliage and then covering that with mulch. Alternatively you could treat each one with a herbicide containing glyphosate, being careful to follow the label instructions and being careful to protect the desirable plants from contact with it. |
