I would like to have plans for a traditional English Perennial Garden. I would also like to have a list of the plants needed and their requirements for sun or shade and water. I have seen some plans but they leave a lot to the imagination and are not specific enough. I also need to know the space required and the size of the plants to use.

In my experience, the only way to find such a plan so ideally suited to your site and needs would be to hire a profesional to design one for you based on an on-site evaluation and then to also provide detailed installation and care instructions. Perennials are so varied in their preferred growing conditions and performance that it is nearly impossible to publish a "one size fits all" plan. Instead, it is better to identify the idiosyncracies of your site and work from there to determine which plants would do well and suit the scheme or style you have in mind. If you want to try to do it yourself, I would suggest finding some plans or photos that approximate what you want, then looking at some good books on perennials to see what could be used in your area to begin to recreate that look and then working through by trial and error to achieve the look you want. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.
