I know that when using gro-lights for seed starting you recommend 14-16 hours. My question is could I leave the
light on for 24 hours or do seedling need some dark time?

Plants, like people, need a rest period each night. If you leave the lights on all night you'll force the seedlings to grow and work hard at converting light into carbohydrates 24 hours a day. This will result in spindly, weak seedlings. Turning the lights out at night will provide your plants with a needed rest period so they can recuperate from the day's events and be ready to grow in the morning. 14-16 hours of light is plenty for your little seedlings and will result in stout, sturdy plants, capable of growing and producing flowers and fruits.
