|A rule of thumb for planting gladiolus is to begin when the trees in your area are leafing out. Then you can plant some about every ten days for about two months. This will provide continuous bloom for most of the season. Plant any sprouted ones first, and store them dry and cool -- 45 degrees is about right -- wrapped in a paper bag or cardboard box rather than a plastic bag to inhibit sprouting.
