|I don't have many windows in the house. Are there any plants that don't need much sunlight? What type of soil and feeding would you recommend?|
|There are several foliage plants that will grow under the conditions you describe, but none that produce flowers. You can brighten a corner of a dark room by purchasing pots of annual plants in flower and then discarding them after a month or two. Houseplants prefer growing in regular potting soil, and appreciate being fed regularly during the spring and summer months when they're most actively growing. You can use a half-strength dilution of a liquid fertilizer and feed every 3-4 weeks, or a quarter-strength dilution and feed every time you water.
Under low light conditions try growing sansevieria, aglaonema, aspidistra, fittonia, philodendron, ficus, parlor palm or sword fern.
