If the plants are simply common lilac, then that plant is still widely available in commerce and the answer would probably be no, unless a small local nursery might be interested. If, on the other hand, the plants are of an unusual type or are no longer widely available in commerce, then the answer might possibly be yes. You might ask at local nurseries if anyone in the area specializes in old fashioned plants, or perhaps your county extension (527-3101) could help you get in touch with people in your area who are interested in old fashioned varieties. A local arboretum or public garden might also be helpful.
