|Can I grow rhubarb in central Florida?
Rhubarb does not like the hot summers in Florida and will not make it as a perennial like it does up north. However, if you want to try to grow it as an annual you might have some measure of success. Start seeds indoors in late August or early September. Then transplant them into the garden in late September and grow them through the winter. Cover them if it freezes. You may have some nice sized plants to harvest in spring. When the hot weather arrives they could be removed and something else planted in their place.
