Fresno peppers are medium hot 4" long chile peppers used primarily in salsas. They need a longer growing season than your region provides, but starting the seeds indoors in late winter and transplanting good sized seedlings into a sunny spot in the garden where reflected heat can help ripen the fruits might provide you with the chiles you crave.

It's probably too late to start seeds this year, but you can purchase seeds from The Pepper Gal, PO Box 23006, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33307-3006 for starting indoors next January.
