Unfortunately, I am not certain what type of book you are looking for. If you are looking for an instruction book as to maintenance or assembly of the tiers or stand, you might want to contact the manufacturer. Otherwise, you should be able to start seedlings or grow houseplants on each tier just as you would on an ordinary shelf or table using supplemental lighting. (The bulbs should be kept just a few inches above the plants.)

If you are looking for information about growing plants under artificial lighting, you might try the appropriate section of the book "Houseplants for Dummies" by Larry Hodgson, ISBN 0-7645-5103-7, Dummy Press. In it you will find a discussion of the different types of artificial lighting available and tips for growing many types of indoor plants. I hope this helps.
